Subwoofer chosen!
Many people has been asking from us"what is the subwoofer you are going to use in Mini?" and reason why we haven´t revealed it yet.
We have tested many many DLS subs in different size of boxes and positions. There has been subs from 6,5" to 12" and like they say, there´s nothing better than twelve inch :)
This sub really does what a good subwoofer suppose to do, it goes really deep, there is a great and accurate punch and last but not least, it moves the air. We didn´t find any side effects when using this sub with scandinavia speakers.
And believe me, there´s a difference between same models of subwoofers when you are trying to discover the finest nuance.

Midrange box
Midrange box is called acoustic resistance box. It is 1,8 litres cylinder shape sealed box which has been drilled small holes all over. Inside the box there is very special damping material.
With this kind of constructions it is possible to compensate early reflections coming from the windshield and side windows. Usually speaker is radiating to every direction with same amplitude.
This box is having cardioid radition form which will have more direct sound from midrange speaker than normal dashboard installation. It also creates less distortion and wider listening area/sweetspot.
Shape and size of the box are very critical when calculating, as well as the size of the holes, their placement, speaker position and front plate diameter compared to speaker itself. Everything will
have an effect to sound. So it is not by mistake in that shape and size. We developed midrange box more than two months to get sound what we wanted, but it was worth of it.
Acoustic resistance box has been used in some high end home audio speakers but we believe that this is one of a kind box used in a car in entire world and the best thing is that it is working extremely well.
This is what we call ReVolution.
